Rightful Place

As I sit here contemplating the way in which we were created. I realize the real goal God had in mind when the word says,

“So God created mankind in his own image,

    in the image of God he created them;

male and female he created them.

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” (Genesis 1:27-28)

God spoke purpose from the very beginning

He explained that we are made in his image and likeness giving us dominion (ruling) and authority (govern, power to act) over the animals in the sea, birds in the air, every creepy thing that creeps on earth and over the earth. This says to me that we are carries of his power. And, in doing and being so, we are always to remember we have dominion and authority.

We don’t have it because we did something to deserve it, we inherited this DNA through God, who created us. From scripture, I gather he was giving us this to rule, and reign with him forever. His intent from the beginning was establishing order.

We are not just passing by this place without purpose and a plan. We were destined to be here before we were in our mother’s womb.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,

before you were born I set you apart. (Jere 1:5)

God has a plan for you and me. It begins with being fruitful, subduing multiplying and recognizing our authority here in the earth

When God said’ to be fruitful, he means in the Greek producing more of something. It’s two-fold in my opinion, he desires for us to not only be fruitful in discipleship, but also in reproduction. Some translations say replenish which is to fill the earth with more of his likeness and his image.

Replenish is used in some translations (make full, fill, stock, occupy the whole of, attain fullness). Now, multiply, (replenish) being fruitful in God’s kingdom is part of mans’ purpose on earth, and allows us to share in His creation, His plan and His glory. (Bible-Tools)

If we are busy replenishing (occupying), subduing and multiplying then we shouldn’t have time to get caught up in things that are indicative of his plan.

Subduing is exercising our rightful place in the earth which denotes, a sense of authority, responsibility, stewardship over God’s creation. It implies the idea of bringing under control, managing, and cultivating resources that God provided.  (Bible Wisdom Hub)

We clearly have purpose to fulfill in the earth: a God-given assignment to fulfill.

We need to be reminded of our God-given position in the earth, therefore taking our rightful place.

Luke 10:19, says “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

We are his image bearers…

Take authority!

Subdue!

Replenish!

Multiply!

This is the Blessing..walk in it!!!
