Finishing Grace
I can honestly say that this is what I need in every day of my life. The Grace to finish, to complete what I start and finish it well.
“You will have interruptions!”
“You will have frustrations.”
I’ve come to realize the grace to finish is given by God.
You’ll never be free in your spirit until you finish.”-T.D. Jakes
Until you learn to be thankful for the part that God has given you the grace to finish you won't have the power to go forward in your life. Often things can be done in phases, what’s the rush.
See it to the End…somethings require us to “See it to the End”. Often, the end of a things determines the beginning of the next thing. How you leave plays a huge role on how you take on the next thing. So, make up in your precious mind that I will finish what I have started.
Ask yourself these questions:
1) Did God lead me here? If so, would he leave me when I get uncomfortable? No, his world declares. “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deu 31:6-8)
2) Are you still here with me? Please, confirm that I am in the very center of your will. I need to know if I should move, stay or just stand still. What we feel isn’t always indicative of what God planned. Our feelings can’t be trusted…even our thoughts don’t always line up with his will.
3) Is my unhappiness due to the fact that I haven’t noticed what you have done for me so far? Are my present feelings clouding the big picture?
4) Am I missing that I should acknowledge what you have done in the past? Am I missing the progress in my life? Am I too close to appreciate what God has done in me, with me and through me.
Maybe, there are areas you need to concentrate on you. Maybe the same feelings you’re feeling now are familiar, it’s what you’ve felt before. The pressure to change, give in, quit, don’t pursue it, or let it go. These are old habits that keep coming up, old struggles, generational curses.
You’re not completely convinced that you can live a different kind of life, “You may have all kinds of issues, and you may need to attack them one at a time.
Never give up on yourself!
You got to finish in phases.
That’s the Finish Grace we are believing God for.
“Jesus told Judas something that really spoke to me. He said, "The poor you have with you always". You know something, I'm telling you something that really blessed my life. "The poor you have with you always". Because I'm a person I always want to fix everything, resolve everything, and change everything. There are some problems that will always be. Doesn't mean you can't help. Doesn't mean you can't contribute. But you have got to accept the fact that God didn't send you here to straighten out the world. Some of you don't understand your course. Success is finishing your course.” (T.D. Jakes)
Until you learn to be thankful for the part that God has given you the grace to finish you won't have the power to go forward in your life. Often things can be done in phases, what’s the rush.
I desire to hear the sweet words of Jesus when I meet him in heaven,
His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little, I will put you in charge of many things; share in the joy of your master.’
(Matthew 25:21)
Finishing Grace is not just an accomplishment, it’s a way of life. Finishing is one of the most gratifying things you can do. It’s just like raising children and giving them encouragement to finish what they have started.
When we decide to complete the task; the commitment; the job; the promise; the undertaking; the assignment whatever we’ve committed to. Therein lies the blessing.
How can we expect a blessing when we haven’t completed the assignment. This is why Finishing Grace is important. And, guess what we can ask God for the Finishing Grace. He knows it’s difficult to stay on the course this isn’t a surprise to him that we have moments we want to give up, quit and cave in. I believe that is part of the process. Jesus, could be testing us saying do you really desire what you asked for, is this really and truly what you want. Then, how about you endure, keep going, trust me, depend on me, find me amid the struggle.
“He gives strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak. Even the youths get weary, and young men stumble and fall: but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles: they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:29-31)
Additionally, there are promises and blessings connected with Finishing Strong.
(Philippians 1:6) says, "I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
“I say this because I won’t be around to help you very much longer. My time has almost run out. Very soon now I will be on my way to heaven. I have fought long and hard for my Lord, and through it all I have kept true to him. And now the time has come for me to stop fighting and rest. In heaven a crown is waiting for me, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that great day of his return. And not just to me but to all those whose lives show that they are eagerly looking forward to his coming back again.”
(2Timothy 4:6-8)
So, here’s what I think: “The best thing you can do right now is to finish what you started last year and not let those good intentions grow stale. Your heart’s been in the right place all along. You’ve got what it takes to finish it up, so go to it. Once the commitment is clear, you do what you can, not what you can’t. The heart regulates the hands.” (2Cor 8:11-20)
The Bible says, "Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].”
(Hebrew 4:16)
List of things I would love to change
My job
The way I can stress over things that are irrelevant to me and my destiny
The way I turn to the immediate accusation mode rather than giving the benefit of the doubt that I would want someone to give to me.
The way I respond to my son, I go from 0 to 7or 8 instead of staying at 0 or 2 at least and talked about it out civilly.
The way I communicate with my husband has been better, because we’re both working on it. But there is much more work to be done.
The way I don’t aways feel like doing things I don’t want to do. I do it anyway but my attitude isn’t always great.
Thinking of others more than myself.
Planning for the future I desire and accepting where I am right now because it’s really, okay. I am in a good place…really truly enjoying the journey.
Writing these things down has been a blessing. Now, I am going to patiently wait for the work between me and the Father is done. He’s done so many other things for me, this is but a light thing for him. I am not worried about what I know he is more than able and capable of completing in my life. I want to be better for myself, those I love and others.
When I am good those around me benefit.
Write out your list…
Take a moment and talk it over with God. Ask him for Finishing Grace. He knows your heart, what you need and what’s best for you.
Consult him on every matter and trust that:
*Jesus will speak and he will confirm
*Jesus will acknowledge
*Jesus will guide
*Jesus will open doors
*Jesus will give you peace
*Jesus will heal your body
*Jesus will fill every broken place
*Jesus will give you Finishing Grace
